Capacitar: A Brief History
Pat Cane, Founder and Director of Capacitar International, facilitated the initial training in 2010 for psychologists, social workers, teachers, indigenous and people working with refugees on the border of Panama and Colombia. With the funding of OIM (Organizacion Internacional para las Migraciones) and their project in Panama, this training was sponsored by CEASPA, the Center for Study and Social Action. A Capacitar team has developed for training and outreach throughout the country led by Alibel Pizarro of Panama City and Isali Pizarro of Colón.
